I applaud your soul-bearing and it gives me hope that even the most accomplished people stumble back a few steps, have to take hold of the handrail, and pull themselves forward again. My goal this year is to start finding out what I want to DO! Not for a living, necessarily, but just to DO! What's important to me... where are my talents... how can I use those talents to make me happy??? Most of my life I was told what I liked and what I needed to do so it's difficult to listen to my own voice sometimes without those echoes interrupting and drowning me out. Thank you for your honest appraisal of your own goals and for your supportive words. You are someone I would very much like to meet in person. Having been a career and life transition counselor for twenty years, I know that's hard to do. When my clients admitted to what they really wanted out of life, they would often become hesitant and tongue-tied. To me, that's a sign that this goal is deeply desired and part of one's soul journey. So, my friend, following your lead, I will admit to my own deeply held desires. My first book, LAND THE JOB YOU LOVE!, will be published in the next week or two. It's for jobseekers over 50 and I want to reach as many boomers as possible. I also want to motivate others to achieve their dreams in a bigger way. I've done it for years one-on-one, now I'm ready and anxious to reach a larger audience. Happy 2010 and here's to manifesting all our dreams!
